Symantec Australia's chief Craig Scroggie will resign after serving more than eight years with the company.
Symantec.cloud Asia Pacific director Brenton Smith will take the reins after Scroggie leaves.
Smith joined Symantec in June last year. Prior to his appointment, Smith headed up CA Technologies’ Australian operation.
Scroggie could not yet say what will fill the gap after he leaves the company.
"What next for me, you will have to stay tuned; I will be able to discuss that once I have finished my duties at Symantec," Scoggie told SC.
The IT professional serves a number of roles including as a non-executive director at NEXTDC, adjunct professor of Faculty of Business, Economics & Law at La Trobe University and as deputy chairman of the board at Foundation for IT Sustainability.
He is also a world champion drummer and continues to play in Celtic rock outfit Claymore.
“It’s been a real privilege and an amazing ride to work for Symantec."
Scroggie will stay on board with Symantec during the handover to Smith.
"I have known Brenton for many years and he is a truly wonderful guy with many years of industry and leadership experience that the Pacific team will benefit from greatly."
Scroggie extended thanks to the company and his colleagues.
