AusCERT2008 introduces interactive keypads for delegates

Delegates at this year’s AusCERT’s Information Security Conference in the Gold Coast will have access to individual keypads in a move to improve audience interaction.

The Communicator Keypad Interactive Devices sponsored by Oracle will allow delegates to interact with speakers by sending text messages, voting, or speaking through a built-in microphone available in each conference room.

According to AusCERT organisers, each conference room will be fitted with the keypads.

Meanwhile, Auscert has also announced its speaker line up with Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President of Trustworthy Computing at Microsoft confirmed as a keynote speaker.

Joining him will be John Stewart, CSO at Cisco Systems and John Meakin, Group Head of Information Security at Standard Chartered Bank.

According to AusCERT’s general manager, Graham Ingram, attendee numbers are approaching 1000 and nearing the official cut-off point.

"This year’s program promises to deliver a solid selection of expert speakers prepared to share their insights on new and emerging trends in the information security space, as well as to revisit the lessons we still haven’t learned or applied to our lives as citizens of the Internet,” he said.

AusCERT2008, Asia Pacific Information Security Conference will be held at Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, between May 18 to 23, 2008.
