Websense is to launch new email and web security services.
Websense Hosted Email Security and Websense Hosted Web Security enable protection from emerging Web 2.0 and converged threats. With recent claims made that the cloud can be a potential host for malware, the email service will clean a message in the cloud before it reaches its destination.
Additionally, Websense claimed that if a user attempts to click on a malicious link in an email or other application, the user will be prevented from accessing the malicious website.
Devin Redmond, vice president product management for Websense, said: “Attackers are moving away from traditional methods of sending spam and malware as attachments in emails to infecting websites and sending them as links in emails, rendering traditional security ineffective.
“Organisations are faced with a deluge of blended threats, as well as Web 2.0 sites, used by criminals to spread spam and malicious code and drive phishing and fraud scams. Delivered over the internet, Websense Hosted Security services tackle these emerging threats in the cloud, ensuring spam and malicious content never reach the customer's network, keeping their employees and essential information secure.”See original article on scmagazineuk.com
