Adobe has issued a new round of security updates for its Reader and Acrobat applications.The security fix addresses eight vulnerabilities in the Reader and Acrobat 9.2 builds. Among the patched versions are the Mac, Windows and UNIX versions of both reader and Acrobat.According to Adobe, the update includes fixes for six vulnerabilities which, if exploited, could allow an attacker to remotely execute code on a targeted system. Such flaws are commonly used by malware writers to infect systems.Due to the severity of the flaws, the company is classifying the update as critical and recommending that users of all Acrobat and Reader versions update their systems.In addition to the five remote code vulnerabilities, the update also addresses a flaw which could allow for script injection attacks and a vulnerability which could lead to a denial of service attack.Adobe's announcement comes on the heels of similar security updates from Microsoft and Oracle to address security holes in their products.
