HP has released a series of security appliances, software tools and services for enterprise networks.The company said that the new systems would protect both on-premises systems and virtualised network hardware. HP has been pushing the mixed deployments through its FlexFabric infrastructure platform.With the new security products, HP said that it will be able to offer users a security platform capable of protecting such converged infrastructure deployments.For virtualised systems, the company is offering the TippingPoint Secure Virtualisation Framework (SVF) suite. The package combines the TippingPoint appliances with security software to route and inspect traffic on virtualised network systems alongside physical traffic.The physical TippingPoint security appliances are also receiving an update. HP is planning both rack-mount and blade-enclosure updates to its S-series lines.The Blade-mounted S1200N IPS A7500 system will offer intrusion prevention service (IPS) protections, while the rack-mounted S1500 system will offer both SSL encryption and decryption for network traffic.HP is also rolling out a service to keep its IPS systems updated. The Reputation Digital Vaccine (Rep DV) service will provided appliances with updates every two hours to keep all hardware up-to-date with recently-discovered network attacks.
