Tuffin and Palo Alto tighten the knot

Tufin has added enhancements to its SecureTrack firewall product that will help Palo Alto users and resellers as well.

Tuffin said version 5.3 has an enhanced policy generator that enabled administrators to create rules through analysis of firewall traffic logs; the ability to review security policies for firewalls, routers or other network devices; and a permissive rule optimisation that recommended how to optimise overly permissive rules.

And it had a zone manager to provide a central interface for defining and managing network zones, and support for PCI DSS version 2.0.

“Tufin has a broad customer base which works closely with us to identify product updates to keep up with their changing, complex firewall management and compliance needs," said Ruvi Kitov, CEO and co-founder of Tufin.

“With this new release, SecureTrack addresses the latest in firewall compliance and automation requirements as demanded by enterprises.

"Coupled with our recent announcement of next-generation firewall support, SecureTrack is today's most comprehensive solution for firewall management.”

Tufin said it was certified as the first firewall management company to offer comprehensive support for next-generation firewalls. It said that the new updates make it easier to manage next-generation firewalls and meet auditing and compliance requirements.

Punit Minocha, VP of business and corporate development at Palo Alto Networks, said SecureTrack was complementary to its products.

"Our mutual customers can gain more robust operations management, auditing and compliance for their network infrastructure,” Minocha said.

Shaul Efraim, Tufin VP of products, marketing and business development, said channel and customers were urging tighter control of Palo Alto products.

"We are committed to supporting customers and channel partners, and quickly responded to this need to enhance our security lifecycle management security suite,” Efraim said.
