In brief: Bitdefender has launched a tool that allows users to check computers for malware in less than a minute.
The Quickscan tool which now works on Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome web browsers caught almost half a million infections last year, the company said.
QuickScan product marketing manager Razvan Costache said once installed, the tool took 60 seconds to check users' PCs, allowing them to make an informed decision on whether they need help removing malware or installing further security protection.
