Users of password manager LastPass will get free credential monitoring through PwnedList under a new partership deal.
LastPass will tap into PwnedList's data feed of compromised accounts, passwords and credit cards and scrub it against its end user data.
PwnedList co-founder Steve Thomas said LastPass users would be alerted via email if their records were compromised.
He said this gave users the chance to "update their passwords before any damage can be done".
The monitoring service was a product of then DVLabs researchers Alen Puzic and Jasiel Spelman and had signed up LastPass as the first customer of its new monitoring offering.
The service launched today and was geared to end user service providers.
"By identifying high risk end users, service providers are able to put additional security in place to block account hijacking attempts and other fraudulent activities," Thomas said.
PwnedList had logged 23,801,415 combined email addresses and passwords
