Chinese technology giant Huawei is in damage control after the Federal Attorney-General declared the company had been banned from tendering for NBN projects due to concerns about cyber-attacks originating in China.

And Japan's national police are trailing a new system that matches keywords to changes in voice pitch to detect phishing attempts made over mobiles. The researchers behind the system say it's 90 per cent accurate.
