EDITOR'S NOTE

It's Friday and while many have finished the week with a beer, some may spend the same investment on acquiring 500 hacked Twitter and Facebook accounts. It's an entry-level service run by a Russian hacker that's perhaps most appealing to spammers and social engineers.

And BitDefender's Clueful app, removed by Cupertino from its App Store, has found tens of thousands of apps don't encrypt data and have unnecessary access rights. The service behind Clueful is still running for anyone who has the app or is willing to install one from mirrors around the web.
