This is a comprehensive product that offers managed access and SSO functionality to applications via the internet, terminal emulation or Windows. It can also be regarded as a modular component of the even broader Access Master suite, which includes additional components for provisioning, managing certificates and workflow and other functions.
This modular approach will no doubt find favor with many enterprises that understand their own requirements and wish to tailor associated products accordingly.
The product uses existing user profiles stored in LDAP directories, thus simplifying configuration and deployment. Furthermore, no changes are required to target applications, which may be quite a mixed bunch of legacy and new generation applications in many organizations, and there is no complicated scripting involved.
These are important points – the busy administration/security manager does not really want too steep a learning curve in either deploying or maintaining such a product.
Administration functions are undertaken via clear dialogues that will be immediately intuitive to most administrators, however infrequently they use them. The user can also "self serve" single sign-on to applications that have been previously approved, and the user desktop is dynamically customised to reflect individual access rights. This is a logical and intuitive approach that will be quickly understood and embedded into everyday working processes.
This combination of potentially powerful functionality and ease of use is a hallmark of the Secure Access Manager product, which will no doubt win it many friends in both the private and public sectors.
The concept is straightforward, the execution is painless, ongoing maintenance should be equally straightforward and the solution is ultimately scalable. If you are considering deploying managed access and single sign-on functionality, Evidian should be high on your list.
Versatile and scalable configuration, ease of use.
Very little, but check also the other products within the Access Master suite.
A well-conceived product for managing enterprise access and single sign on.
